National Taxpayers of Illinois Endorses Jones For Congress in 3rd Dist.

Third Congressional District Republican candidate, Arthur J. Jones, has earned the endorsement of the largest taxpayer organization in Illinois, for the Feb. 5, 2008 primary election.

Jim Tobin, Chairman of the National Taxpayers United of Illinois, sent Jones a personal letter informing Jones of his endorsement in the 3rd district, by the 10,000 members of his group.

Tobin cited Jones for his consistent pledges as a Congressional candidate, in his previous campaigns, to fight high taxes and wasteful federal spending.

Wrote Tobin: "This endorsement is given in recognition of your exceptional desire to fight taxes and further the cause of vitally needed fiscal integrity."

Jones, who has long advocated abolishing the IRS and the income tax and replacing that tax with a 10% national sales tax said "I'm now open to the idea that even that tax is unnecessary as a means of funding the government."

"Mr. Tobin, "said Jones," has convinced me that somebody in Congress has to take the lead in doing something more than just talk about tax reform. I'm committed to working to remove as many of these costly and burdensome taxes as much as possible from off the backs of all the people of this district, should I be elected."

"And," concluded Jones, "I'll start with that Marxist-mandated income tax."
