Jones Responds to His Critics

Apparently, my ads in the local newspapers are right on target. Unknown callers who want to tout their patriotism are calling me and e-mailing me their opinions pro and con on my position on the war in Iraq.

I am being praised and condemned by Democrats and Republicans alike on both sides of this issue. And that is a good thing. At least we are getting people to really think about this war, rather than blindly support it.

I have received over 30,000 hits on my web site, and am averaging over 500 hits a day. So, part of my campaign has been successful in stirring real debate on this issue of war or peace.

Now as to my critics. You are saying things you would never say to me in person. That tells me you are cowards. And to support this war and this administration, as you do tells me that you are fools as well.

You are also hypocrites. I earned the right to hold the beliefs I do on the battlefield. so don't any of you gutless Neo-Cons who have never been in military service or in combat, question my patriotism.

I oppose this war, precisely because I am a patriot. Viet Nam was a disaster for this nation. If we invade Iran, as Bush is planning to do, our country will suffer far more than we did in Viet Nam. We will have stirred to anger - suicidal anger, over one billion Muslims. Is that the war you want to fight? Do you want to return to the draft and fight that war? And for how long do you want to fight? For 10,15,20,30, 50 years? Do you want your children and grandchildren to be fighting a war started by Bush? Think before you vote. I am a former National Socialist. I never tried to hide it. Bush is a former drunk who is now drunk with the power to start WW III. It is Bush and Cheney who are the traitors, not me or Cindy Sheehan, who lost her son, but is fighting to save her country. For that, I salute her, and stand with her.
